The best coffee venue I know for so many reasons : - coffee is GREAT. The owner is a coffee lover and knows his things about grains ! - the staff... oh the staff ! Everyone I’ve been served by (3 so far) have been amazing. They’re so much more than baristas, they are this kind of sunshine-people who do this job because they love human beings and this venue, not for money. They make you feel you’re truly welcome in this house and you’re special. - the social concept : the owners are helping refugees and asylum seekers, I think most of the money they make goes to help people. They give them a course / a way to be helpful in this society, independant and proud, then potentially hire them for the catering business they have. At the moment the catering seems to go low so they keep the staff busy by... cooking for homeless people (I’m not the best to describe everything they do sorry!) - the venue : it’s my favorite place just for the design ... it’s full of books (you can read!) it’s full of art, plants and vintage objects. Out of the great aspects of this place, I just go there because giving my money to this people has an amazing social impact. If you have consciousness you do a good thing getting your coffee and food here !

Stumbled across this cute little cafe by chance. One of only a few spots to get a late evening coffee! Coffee was spot on and the owner was very warm and welcoming. I love the ethos of this place even more after reading the sign at their door. Can’t wait to come back

Came for brunch in the weekends and it’s a great little spot. It’s someone’s living room so it’s a small space. I guess we came early so not many people were around but as we were leaving there were quite a lot of people heading in. Food is good and very cheap for Newtown and it’s hot chocolate and flat white were pretty good too. Highly recommend this spot. From what I heard the owner wanted to make t into a bookstore but changed mind in the middle and hence the bookstore cafe! Seems like they have life drawings on Thursday nights and otherwise it closes a bit later than the time advertised on google maps.

Parliament on King is more than just a cafe; it's a haven where dreams come true. Brought to life by the passionate duo, Ravi and Della, this community hub exudes a bohemian charm that's both inviting and inspiring. The moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The cafe's interior is an eclectic blend of vintage and contemporary elements, creating a cozy and whimsical space. But it's not just the ambiance that makes Parliament on King so special. What truly sets Parliament on King apart is its heart and soul. The cafe employs asylum seekers who share their authentic cuisine, offering a taste of their homelands. Each dish is a labor of love, prepared with passion and skill. By supporting Parliament on King, you're not only enjoying delicious food but also contributing to a meaningful cause. Beyond the culinary delights, Parliament on King is a place where people come together to connect and share stories. The cafe's inclusive and compassionate atmosphere makes it a safe space for all. Whether you're seeking a quiet moment for yourself or a lively conversation with friends, Parliament on King offers a truly unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a cafe that's more than just a place to eat, Parliament on King is a must-visit. It's a place where dreams are realised, compassion is celebrated, and delicious food is served with equal measures of inspiration and cheekiness. As a Vietnamese-Australian having endured discrimination both here and in my home country, the warmth and acceptance I've found at Parliament on King have brought comfort and a sense of belonging. ????’???????? ???????? ????????????????.

Ravi and Della provided catering for a work event - the food was amazing, praised by all. They were also excellent at communicating, despite our last minute request. They were able to accomodate to all dietary requirements. Legends! Can't wait to visit in person. :)
